About the role

I lead the team that helps make Tesco more resilient to a broad range of current and emerging fraud risks. I bring our Fraud Risk Management Blueprint to life, and lead all aspects of the control frameworks to mitigate fraud risks, group-wide.

You will be responsible for

  • Crafting and delivering the Group Fraud Risk Management Blueprint and strategy.
  • Developing the policies and procedures as to how Tesco managers the evaluation and mitigation of fraud risks.
  • Horizon scanning to identify potential and emerging fraud risks and provide recommended considerations to Business Units on the management of those risks.
  • Leading a data led approach to fraud management and investigations.
  • Providing second line of defence oversight of the fraud risk control frameworks developed by all business units across the Group, and the Fraud Risk Burn-DownPlans developed by those teams to reduce our exposure to fraud.
  • Providing accurate and informative fraud risk reporting for our Executive leadership, defining the impact of fraud to the group and critically assessing the effectiveness of our control framework.
  • Developing robust testing processes to assess the effectiveness of our fraud risk controls.
  • Developing and leading a high performing team, giving them opportunities to be their best - Forecasting and handling budgets effectively, always being cost conscious - Following our Code of Business Conduct and always act with integrity and due diligence

You will need

  • Expert knowledge of commercial fraud risks
  • In depth knowledge of risk management frameworks and assurance
  • Ability to translate and prioritise complex fraud trends, and develop robust risk mitigation strategies.
  • Developing and leading a high performing team
  • Experience in setting team strategy and trading of conflicting interests and priorities
  • Good influence and interpersonal skills up and down the hierarchy
  • Track record of selling new ideas to the business
