About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity within our Treasury team! In this role you will be the Group transactional banking SME with responsibility for optimising process and managing supplier relationships to drive efficiency and improvement against principles of cost, liquidity, security, service, and customer.
You will be responsible for
- Leading the day-to-day relationships with all third party suppliers of transactional banking activities including card acquiring, cash collection and processing, cash management, and outgoing payments.
- Being the "go to" business partner across Tesco for transactional banking advice and recommendations, providing a point of escalation, and enabling collaboration between colleagues and suppliers.
- Providing detailed knowledge and experience regarding transactional banking arrangements and industry development to support Group Procurement in commercial discussions.
- Ensuring that in each of the countries we operate in, the processes and contractual arrangements in place across all transactional banking activities are optimised from a value dating and efficiency perspective.
- Maintaining relationships with industry participants and trade bodies (e.g. Bank of England, card schemes, HMT, PSR, BRC, etc…) to ensure continued support, collaboration and awareness of the retail payments industry.
- Staying up-to-date on the latest trends in payments, finding opportunities to improve Tesco Group payment processing capabilities, and inspiring changes and new developments within the payments industry to drive enhanced benefit to retail consumers, suppliers, and the Tesco Group.
- Working as part of a cross-functional team to define and drive Group payment strategies, utilising the Group overview of 'what works well' to enhance other parts of the business.
You will need
- Extensive knowledge and a deep understanding of customer payments and cash management
- Extensive knowledge of digital and alternative payment types
- Excellent industry network amongst card acquirers, banks and card schemes
- Strong supplier management
