About the role

We’re looking for a passionate, inquisitive and insightful Senior UX Researcher to join our multidisciplinary team.

As a researcher at the UK’s largest supermarket, you’ll be helping millions of people shop better. You’ll explore the how, why and when of customer needs, helping shape and validate solutions that improve every stage of a customer’s shopping journey. You’ll weigh business goals with user expectations, generating research that helps solve both. And you’ll know how to fail fast, get back up, and try again.

Audiences don't get bigger or more diverse than this. So you’ll really need to know your onions. That includes a big appetite for qualitative and quantitate research, customer interviews and in-depth data synthesis.

Empathy mixed with insight and collaboration is the recipe for successful research. So you’ll be working with some of the finest researchers, UX and UI designers, UX writers, service designers, data and analytics experts, product managers and developers.
Our signature dish is our research library, so you'll need to know how to work with big data sets and complex reports.

Here’s a taste of what you can expect.

You’ll join a business that values your expertise, experience and insight. That nurtures your personal and career growth, with opportunities for every stage of your journey. You’ll be a crucial part of a talented team full of people from all backgrounds that share your drive and ambition. You'll enjoy a hybrid role that creates the perfect work/life balance, helping you be who you are both professionally and personally. And a benefits package that’s more than competitive.

You will be responsible for

  • Share research expertise and knowledge with others and encourage the wider team to actively participate in UX Research, to improve organisational capability and challenge team thinking.
  • Use workshops as a key tool to leverage collaboration, cohesiveness and alignment on user needs for successful product development.
  • Provide feedback to other designers and researchers to help strengthen your team and Tesco as a whole.
  • Help your teammates build expertise, strong decision-making skills, and empathy for our customers.
  • Embrace opportunities to line manage other researchers and help with their learning and development.
  • Work with the UX Research and Design Manager to cultivate a positive, supportive, and inclusive team culture.

You will need
