This isn't so much a management induction programme as complete immersion in the business - based on your specific needs.
Wherever you've come from - wherever you're going - if you join us in a store management role, you'll have 12 whole weeks to get to know the stores business from the ground-up.
We want you to stick around, so we make sure you get a feel for the whole place.
First of all, you're placed in a different store from the one you're joining. This is absolutely vital: the store will carry on as if you're not there. So if someone's ill, the team need to get on with business as usual - without bringing you in to help.
You begin by discussing your plans and ambitions with the Personnel Manager and Store Manager, so you can decide between you what to do next. Then it's over to you to do it.
That's right - for the only time in your Tesco career, you'll have absolutely no accountability other than to yourself.
During induction you'll shadow the team, learning how they do their jobs. You will also find yourself stacking shelves or working on the tills. It will all help you truly understand our business, our people and our customers. You'll realise that retail isn't as easy as it looks and learn to value the part that everyone plays in our success.
The Tesco induction is all about giving you an immersion in the business - but that doesn't mean you'll be gasping for air. There's always support and advice if you need it.
We wouldn't do business any other way.
At Tesco, we value our users feedback and ask that you take a few moments to complete a short survey regarding your visit today.
